Design, Build, Fly

Student teams will design, fabricate, and demonstrate the flight capabilities of an unmanned, electric powered, radio-controlled aircraft which can best meet the specified mission profile given by the AIAA DBF Competition or other goals given by instructors. The goal is to make a balanced design possessing good demonstrated flight handling qualities and practical and affordable manufacturing requirements while providing a high vehicle performance.

New students will also take part in a teaching program where they will learn the fundamentals of aircraft design and fabrication in a way that is very similar to the actual competition plane and will assist in the final production of the WPI DBF competition plane
