Mission
The WPI Club Alpine and Nordic Ski Team is a competitive ski racing team that competes in the USCSA Eastern Thompson Division. Members of the team participate in alpine or nordic ski racing events. Alpine events include giant slalom (GS), slalom (SL), and dual slalom.

During C term the team travels to different states in New England to participate in races against other universities including Northeastern, Tufts, Holy Cross, Connecticut College, and Boston University.

The team has qualified for USCSA Regionals and Nationals!

The purpose of WPI Club Tennis is to provide a club at WPI for students to play tennis in both recreational and competitive settings. The team will provide opportunities for competitive play and drills at practices as well as match opportunities with other colleges at both the varsity and club level. The club also aims to cater to newer players and beginners in order to increase the greater tennis community across campus.

Only WPI students are eligible for membership of WPI Club Tennis. Every student at WPI is welcome to participate. WPI Club Tennis will not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, religion, color, age, sexual orientation, disability, veteran status, marital status or national origin. Students are free to join the club or discontinue membership at any time. For a student to be considered an active member of Club Tennis, they must attend a minimum of four events per semester. These events include but are not limited to practices, matches, social events, fundraising events and community service events.

The primary purpose of the Equestrian Team shall be to make equestrian sports more accessible to the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) Community and to create a competitive co-ed equestrian team. This purpose will be accomplished through team practices, competition, and equestrian education. The team will be affiliated with Maplewood Farm in Berlin, Massachusetts, and the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA). The WPI Equestrian Team will align with WPI’s core mission by conveying knowledge about equestrian sports to any student who wishes to gain skills and exposure to the sport.

It normally meets two to three times a week during the terms to practice and fence. There is a small yearly club membership fee. Elected student Officers run the club.

The purpose of the WPI Men’s Club Lacrosse team is to offer students interested in lacrosse, and/or playing the sport, an opportunity to experience the game at a college level. The club will focus on teaching those less experienced players basic skills and rules pertinent to the game and allow members to experience college lacrosse. Terms of membership: The men's club lacrosse team is intended to teach the sport of men's lacrosse, however, membership is open to any member of the WPI community.

We offer seasonal use of helmets, pinnies, uniforms, and other select equipment during the season that is returned at the end of the year. GYM CREDIT REQUIREMENTS

Sign up on Workday, without registering on Workday you cannot receive credit.
Coaching is required for gym credit. Costs range $100-$140 per semester.
A gym membership to Evolve Fitness and Training is required; it costs $40 for WPI students, which can be partially reimbursed during the school year.
Sign in with the "WPIPL" binder at the front desk in Evolve. Sign out to track your hours, and the staff will sign off on it
A total of 30 hours logged and approved during the semester will pass the class.
Hours must be completed at Evolve, at powerlifting competitions, or with team volunteering events.
No equipment is required and competing is optional! Once you are at the gym there is a bin of team equipment you can borrow and use. Please be respectful of equipment and return it when you are done!

During colder months, runs are held at 4:00 PM for outdoor runs and 5:00 PM for indoor runs inside the Rec Center.

We also have a competitive team that hosts tryouts in the first couple weeks in A term and then will practice and compete against other teams in the spring.

In underwater hockey, players must push a weighted puck with a foot long stick along the bottom of the pool while holding their breath. Players wear masks, gloves, and flippers. The goals are the walls on each end of the pool. There are generally about six people on a team. Unlike ice hockey, underwater hockey is a non-contact sport. We play causally, dividing whoever shows up into two teams and scrimmage against each other the majority of practice. Newcomers are always welcome!
