They are one pound combat robots, with materials limited to various PLAs, ABS, ASA, or PETG types. Used as an introduction to combat robotics, every member begins by designing and competing with them. Members are offered free electronics from a standard kit provided by the club. Competitions happen 3 to 4 times a year or almost every term. Like many other combat robotics competitions we offer weight bonuses for different movement systems, but we also offer a unique "Unconventional Control" bonus.
Robots are granted, in addition to the one pound limit, an extra:
+ 0.25lbs for "Non-Traditional Movement", movement that is not rotational driven motion or true walkers.
+ 0.25lbs for "Unconventional Control", driving or operating the robot that falls outside of standard controllers or control schemes.
+ .5lbs for "Walker Movement", motion exclusively from a true walker, that uses 2 or more independent degrees of freedom to achieve translation.
For the full official ruleset, check out this document.

Robots that competed at WPI's most recent competition, WPI D25. This does not include robots that have done only grudge matches or competed in non-WPI events. Those can be found in the All Time WPI Plants section.
