This GBM (in collaboration with WiCYS, WiRE, and DSC) featured former Dell interns who are currently WPI students! This was our second year holding this event, and it was a great success. We learned how they got their internships, heard about their experiences, asked questions, and discovered future opportunities. There was also free Dominos and a merch raffle!
We will be sending the slides shown during the panel and the contact info of all the panel members. Don't hesitate to ask them any questions!

Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming Cindy DeFae, a WPI CS alum and former president of WiCS. She is a current Staff Software Engineer at Bretton AI with 10+ years of experience across Bretton AI, Amplitude, ClearBrain, and DraftKings.
She prepared a lesson and gave us a lot of great tips on how to succeed during a technical interview. Be on the lookout for WiCS Weekly, where we will share the notes.

We introduced our mentors to our mentees at this GBM! Afterwards, we enjoyed the nice weather with some fun, casual lawn games in the grass area behind the CC. If you didn't get a chance to meet your mentor/mentee, don't worry. They should have reached out to you, so please contact them!

In this meeting, we held a workshop teaching our members how to build their own portfolio website!
Building your own personal portfolio website is a great way to have a record of and show off your projects, skills, and experiences.
We also created a repository in GitHub to hold the code for the website. Reach out if you want access to the repository so you can make your own website!
Come to our meeting next week to get paired with your mentor at Lawn Games (and reach out if you still want a mentor and haven't filled out the form)!

For our Welcome to WiCS GBM, we did an overview of what our club is and what we do, introduced the exec, and then spent some time getting to know each other with bingo!
Important note: there will be 3 interim officers needed for B term. If you're interested in learning what it's like to be on WiCS exec, stay tuned for a form (freshmen are encouraged to apply as well!)
