Details

This event features a panel of international vocalists, scholars, and artists who will explore the meaning and
relevance of spirituality in the modern world through a 25-minute keynote talk and a 40-minute cross-cultural poetry
performance. The talk will introduce core concepts of contemporary and Islamic spirituality, its practical benefits in life,
and contrasts between contemporary and Islamic spiritual traditions. Following this, guest performers from diverse
cultural backgrounds will present classical spiritual poetry (some dating back centuries) highlighting universal
themes of love, reflection, and inner tranquility. The event aims to provide students with a calming spiritual
experience, promote mental well-being, and challenge stereotypes by showcasing the gentle, artistic, and
intellectually rich dimensions of Muslim tradition.
