Seaching for volunteer opportunities by calendar on MyWPI
Did you know that you have search for events on MyWPI (including service events) by calendar view? Select "Events" along the top of your MyWPI homescreen and then select "Calendar View", a green button on the upper right side of the events list.
You can also add the service event to your Outlook Calendar directly by RSVPing on MyWPI. An important note: RSVPing is NOT the same as confirming your participation in the event -- you should still refer to the registration directions in the event listing to register to volunteer.
Sign up to volunteer
Note that events and availability change daily and the events included below are updated as of this email. A full list of service events can be found on the Student Activities Portal on MyWPI.
Please register in advance with the site directly. Questions should be directed to the volunteer site directly. Volunteer events listed below require advanced sign up with the volunteer contact listed in the event description. Good practice is reaching out at least 72 hours in advance. Note that some volunteer opportunities require advanced background checks.
Want your service event included in this newsletter?
When you create your event on MyWPI, list the Student Activities Office as a co-sponsor. We tag and list events included on the SAO portal.
Getting There:
Don't forget that the Community Service van is available for all WPI students for co-curricular volunteer opportunities. Students can request the van here. The CS Van is available daily from 9:00am to 6:00pm with detailed availability listed in the form link. If you have accessibility questions about van transportation, please contact gr-sao@wpi.edu.
Volunteering at Mechanics Hall
Mechanics Hall is a concert hall owned and operated by the Worcester County Mechanics Association, a nonprofit organization. Mechanics Hall is pre-approved for Federal Work Study volunteering. Sign up here to volunteer!
Completing service for Federal Work Study?
Questions about Federal Work Study should be directed to finaid@wpi.edu.
You can find information about Federal Work Study including forms and directions here.
While volunteer opportunities should include their Federal Work Study approval status, a full list of pre-approved sites can be found here.

We are seeking Greeters, and Ushers for the Spring Brown Bag concerts. Brown Bag concerts often have early arrival of buses through our accessible entrance so we will start our shift 90 minutes prior to the concert. This is the season opener of the Spring Brown Bag concert series. This is a free concert that features Midori In Partnership with Joy of Music Program. Midori is a visionary artist, activist and educator who explores and builds connections between music and the human experience.

We are seeking Head Ushers, Greeters, Ushers, and a Coat Check volunteer for this event. Greeters will be working on two separate events: Many Voices Youth Singers Choir Rehearsal as well as greeting for the Chamber Society. Worcester Chamber Society is handling the ticket scanning for this RESERVED seating concert in the Great Hall. This year’s Family Concert is brought to you by the letter F. An afternoon of fairy tales, fables, family, friends, and fun is sure to delight the children in your lives (as well as your inner child). Four hands on one piano provides a musical setting for Ravel’s Mother Goose Suite. Navok’s Beauty and the Beast is the world premiere of a fantastic musical retelling of the classic fairy tale.
