Mission The Philharmonic Association is the student group that oversees the logistics of some of the classical ensembles at WPI, including the Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonic Chamber Players, and Medwin Honors String Quartet.The Philharmonic Orchestra meets most Mondays and Wednesdays from 5-7pm in Alden Hall Great Hall.Membership in this group is open to all students who have an interest in this topic. There are no restrictions based on identity, background, beliefs, or affiliation. The group welcomes anyone who wishes to participate, contribute, and support its mission, fostering a respectful and inclusive environment for all members.
Membership BenefitsBeing a part of the Philharmonic Association allows you to continue playing your instrument in a fun atmosphere with other people that are there to have fun making music. We generally perform a concert at least once per term, as well as have several other performance opportunities both on and off campus. You also have can join the Philharmonic Chamber Players and play in smaller chamber groups as well as a small chamber orchestra.Besides performing, we host many social events throughout the year including game nights, hikes, study hours, trips to the Boston Symphony Orchestra, collab events with other clubs, and many other events.
