About Us
Founded in 1979, the Worcester Polytechnic Institute Jazz Group regularly tours the globe, hosts regional festivals and symposia, and invites renowned jazz players/composers/educators to the campus and the Worcester area for concerts and clinics. Directed by Professor Douglas Olsen, Stage Band, Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Combo, and Brass Band perform a wide range of literature, often in concerts, TV shows, festivals, educational programs, banquets, and charity fund-raisers, and for audio/video recordings! Membership in this group is open to all students who have an interest in this topic. There are no restrictions based on identity, background, beliefs, or affiliation. The group welcomes anyone who wishes to participate, contribute, and support its mission, fostering a respectful and inclusive environment for all members.
