Mission
To provide a support system for first generation college students, low income students, and any others seeking assistance with the transition into college life. This organization will help bring awareness to our faculty, students, and community about the struggles of the first generation experience by building more opportunities for them to learn. We aim to dispel any stigma or stereotype towards the first generation identity and provide a more welcoming atmosphere on the WPI campus.

Joining a First-Generation Student Association (FGSA) offers a variety of benefits designed to support students who are the first in their families to attend college. One of the main advantages is academic support, which often includes peer mentoring, study groups, and workshops focused on skills like time management and exam preparation. Members also gain access to a strong community of fellow first-gen students, creating a sense of belonging and understanding through shared experiences.
